Director Technical Services
New Director appointed

There is no selling the house or relocating the family, just a case of picking up his belongings and moving to the office next door.

After 3½ years with Warwick Shire Council as Manager Works, Peter See has been appointed to the position of Director Technical Services. Mr See replaces Ian Woodyard who has taken up a position in Brisbane.

Under his leadership, Mr See does not foresee any substantial change in the day-to-day operation of Council’s Technical Services Division.

“What work gets done is driven by Council policies and budget, however through my involvement with the Regional Road Group, I do see a chance for the six Councils involved to operate at a higher level,” Mr See said.

Mr See is aiming high in service delivery with a desire for no carryover in Council’s works program from year to year.

“I have a heavy focus on delivering all of Council’s capital works each year and if the circumstances are right, we should be able to deliver,” Mr See said.

Each year Council sets itself a target of 80 per cent completion of programmed capital works.

Warwick Shire Mayor is very happy with Mr See’s appointment.

“Peter has already done an admirable job for Warwick Shire over the past three years,” Mayor Bellingham said.

“His knowledge base is so extensive and current I have no doubt he will position the Council and the Shire well for the future, and his skills will contribute to successful delivery of Council’s works programs.”

Prior to his Council role, Mr See had seven years with the Main Roads Department in Emerald and Barcaldine. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Diploma in Project Management.

A lover of the great outdoors, Mr See combines a busy family life with wife Julie and their three children, with involvement in weekend sport such as cricket.

He is the Group Leader of the Glennie Heights Scout Group – now the only scouting group in Warwick and in January will head off to Elmore in Victoria, for the Australian Scouting Jamboree, where 15,000 Scouts from all over the world will gather.
