Matters arising from Council meeting of the 28th March 2007 Toilet block in Tierney Park The toilet block in Tierney Park, Killarney needs to be replaced this year with the plumbing and septic tank causing major problems, there is also a need for a disabled access. It is proposed to replace the toilet block with the new CS2 Windyloo and septic tank for a total cost of $28,000. Lighting into the park and toilets will cost $9,500, new play equipment and soft fall will cost $35,000. Funding for the new toilet block and play equipment will come from the capital works budget. This is from capital funding previously allocated to Killarney. Water Carting During the month, the Killarney water supply was augmented by water carrying. This only occurred for two days, the first day being basically a trial run. Fortunately rain replenished the Spring Creek flow. The flow in Spring Creek is still minimal and the possible need for carting will remain until significant rainfall is received. Level 4 restrictions remain in place for Killarney A request for funding assistance for cartage of the water has been lodged with the DLGPSR. The funding assistance will only be for the carting on 200 litres of water per person per day with no allowance for industry. It may be necessary to relax the Level 4 restrictions at Killarney if cartage of water is not needed.
