While there is no specific agenda-and certainly no plan to harvest the angst over council amalgamations, Warwick Shire Council is planning to go to the people with a series of public community meetings that started in Allora. Over the next months, council will host meetings in Allora, Maryvale, Killarney, Leyburn, Yangan, Dalveen and Warwick. Shire mayor Cr Ron Bellingham admits that ratepayers could be excused for having amalgamations on their minds. "These meetings offer residents an opportunity to discuss any questions they may have prior to amalgamation and to have those questions answered," Cr Bellingham said, adding that people with any other concerns were also welcome to attend. Not just divisional councillors will be on hand-council officers will also be attending to deal with queries.. Future meetings will be held in the following locations: Maryvale 7.00pm on Wednesday. 10 October 2007 at the Maryvale School of Arts Killarney 7.00pm on Wednesday. 7 October 2007 at Killarney Senior Citizens Leyburn 7.00pm l1I1 Tuesday. 30 October 2007 at CWA Hall Yangan 7.00pm on Tuesday. 13 November 2()()7 at Yangan School of Arts Dalveen 7.00pm on Tuesday, 27 November 2007 at Dalveen Hall Warwick 5.30pm on Wednesday. 5 December 2007 at Warwick Town Hall
