Killarney Area Progress Association Inc.

Preamble

As with any voluntary community group KAPA is not a static entity. People come and go and the organisation evolves to suit the current energies of the those participating. This waxing and waning reflects the dynamic nature of the mature community; which Killarney definitely is. During the history of KAPA many projects have been undertaken by many people within this cohesive community. Most of these have been part of a structured vision that included the following action areas as part of the original aims of the association:

• Tourism
• Beautification
• Rural Development
• Public Relations and Publicity
• Funding
• Employment
• Youth Affairs
• Events

These broad agenda items still remain the focus of activities conducted by the Association, however, in this age of climate change and predicted mass extinctions we could now add Conservation as another important area for action. Part of the aims of this web site is to foster an online community that will augment the vibrant, cohesive and functioning community that makes up this Wallangara region nested in the hills at the eastern edge of the Queensland Southern Downs.
