Watch as our professional sculpturing team create monumental works of arts from Tannamerah Sandstone.

This Symposium will be a major cultural event for the Southern Downs, running in the two weeks leading up to the successfully established Warwick Shire, Jumpers and Jazz in July winter festival.

A team of four experienced stone sculptors have been contracted to the Symposium for two weeks to sculpture Warwick “Tannamerah” sandstone into monumental works of art which will remain in the local community for many years to come.

The professional sculpturing team will work in the highly visible venue of Leslie Park, Warwick.  Sculptors will interact with the public and school students, with their progress viewed and enjoyed by the public, free of charge.

School students throughout the region will participate in the Creative Schools program incorporating the Symposium into their study of art, history and geography.

The finished sculptures, monumental in size and weighing up to two tonne each, will be donated to four of the smaller communities in the region being Dalveen, Emu Vale, Killarney and Leyburn for prominent, outdoor display.

Final artworks will be presented to these communities during the official Symposium celebration in Leslie Park on Sunday 30 July in conjunction with the Jumpers and Jazz "Party in the Park".

This celebration will include an ice carving demonstration by Paul Stumkat, a fun and fast demonstration of sculpturing.  See you there !

Proudly supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund - a Queensland Government and Warwick Shire Council partnership to support local arts and culture.

and the sculptors are : Antone Bruinsma, Vern Foss, Motoyuki Niwa and Paul Stumkat.
