International paragliders buckle up for Killarney Classic "AAA" HGFA sanctioned, FAI Category 2 Paragliding competition England champion paraglider Nicky Moss, and athletes from Columbia and Norway have signed up to join the 2007 Killarney Paragliding Classic Competition marked in for a start on the 27th of January next year. The Killarney Paragliding Club are well under way with preparations for the event, and this time will be seeking to recruit paid assistants for the launch work during the event. "No previous experience is necessary but they do need to be available for the week, enthusiastic and eager to be involved in a world class event", said event co-ordinator Wendy Mugridge. "It is a great job opportunity, a perfect view, professional pilots and being part of international event while getting paid for it". Apart from Mr Moss, a lineup of some of Australia's top paragliders are expected for the event, with the Manilla World Championship in NSW scheduled to commence just ten days after the Killarney competition completes. That tight schedule will help draw international competitors to the Killarney hills, according to event director and local pilot Andrew Horchner. "It is a huge advantage, as the international pilots have the opportunity to be part of two competitions instead of coming to Australia just for one" Article published in the Southern Free Times , the regions free and independent newspaper |
